Sneak peak J Brand Sportswear by

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

Back in May, J Brand announced they were to launch their ready-to-wear collection for SS12. The collection features J Brand’s streamlined aesthetic and blending seamlessly with the line’s denim. Pieces include white leather pants, a silk tuxedo jacket and a gray satin tee. The collection also features printed denim styles, with muted florals and houndstooth prints. This casual selection of luxurious basics may well reflect their Californian roots, but the buttery soft leather tee’s & crisp white shirts are sure to travel both coast’s.

Hartford on

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

HARTFORD may not be the first label on your style radar, but that’s all about to change. The brand, created by designer Yves Chareton, began as a menswear range, but the recent addition of womenswear and childrenswear has seen stars like Vanessa Paradis take note of its French-chic-meets-American-cool aesthetic.

“Hartford is stylish but not trendy,” Chareton told us. “Understatement is the key word. Owen Wilson is wearing Hartford in the last Woody Allen picture Midnight in Paris, and Johnny Depp came lately with Vanessa Paradis to one of our Paris shops.”

First worn by Bruce Springsteen in the Seventies, Hartford has nevertheless resisted the lure of the mainstream outside Chareton’s native France.

Style Crush – Emmanuelle Alt

Monday, February 28th, 2011

New Editor-in-Chief of French Vogue, Emmanuelle Alt has some huge shoes to fill as successor to Carine Roitfeld. Carine served Vogue as editor-in-chief for 10 years and has amassed a loyal following. We all adore Carine & her ability to pull of the whatever she puts on, including a cashmere all-in-one with sky high snake skin heels with a trench (ok – perhaps not one of her best looks!). But, it is super exciting to see someone new at the helm of such a fashion powerhouse as French Vogue.

Emmanuelle began at Vogue in 2000 as fashion director, before recently becoming editor-in-chief, and is known as a huge jeans fan! At Trilogy, we can’t get enough of her effortlessly cool style. I just love the way she wears jeans, no matter what the shape or colour, she manages to make them look chic & fabulous! We all have a serious style crush on Ms Alt…So watch this space! x

Must have brand – Chinti & Parker – “Wardrobe staple status” VOGUE

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Vogue suggested one should ‘Fast-Track Chinti and Parker to wardrobe-staple status’, and here at Trilogy we agree! Since conception, the brand has had a loyal following in the press and with celebrities such as Thandie Newton, Trudie Styler, Laura Bailey and Claudia Schiffer.

After having a very fruitful meeting with the delightful Anna Singh, founder of the must-have cashmere & jersey brand, we are super excited about our Trilogy exclusive SS11 collection. With a colour palette of oatmeal & coral, cornflower blue, navy & grey, in the most luxurious open weave cashmere and of course with their signature cute & quirky detailing – It is bound to be even bigger than the huge success of AW10!

I asked Anna a few questions about the brand…

What inspires you?

Parisien style for its chicness meets Japanese style for its clever detailing and quirky elements.

Who are your current style icons?

Alexa Chung, Thandie Newton, Laura Bailey.

What 3 items of clothing can’t you live without?

Current Elliot Chinios, Chinti and Parker Standard vest in taupe, One pocket sweater in navy.

What is your ultimate style tip?

Layering to create that ‘cool city look’which is very current. Start off with a cami vest and layer wth something loose and casual over the top like a boyfriend style vest – loose and sexy.

Sum up the collection in 3 words:

Super soft, luxurious, clever basics.

Why do you think ethical fashion is so important now?

It should become the norm rather than the unexpected, everyone needs to try and do their bit.. there is no need to compromise on the style element any more.

What can we expect to see from Chinti & Parker in the future?

A very exciting SS11 range, wth new even softer fabrics, maxi dresses, cashmere and bamboo knitwear and lots more stripes!

Tuck in to this season’s must have shirts

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

This season’s must have item – the shirt – has been reinvented. Made up in luxx fabrics such as sumptuous silk, stretch satin & the softest of cotton. The colours have also moved on from classic white, with gorgeous prints & cool chambray blues.

There are also several ways to wear your shirt. Tuck it in, leave it out, open, belt it and of course the most important look for AW10, layering.

For silk shirts, Trilogy reccommend cult brand EQUIPMENT, which has recantly made a huge comeback after being featured in GRAZIA and worn by stars such as Kate Hudson & French Vogue’s Carine Roitfeld.

Celebrity favourite TUCKER adds some fun prints and the easiest shapes for all sizes. As worn by a host of US stars including Lauren Conrad & Drew Barrymore, as well as the lovely Cat Deeley.

For a classic chambray shirt go for Danish designer MALENE BIRGER & Italian brand CALIBAN.

Or if you prefer a crisp timeless shirt opt for THEORY.

Whether it be classic, sexy or cool – Master your shirt this season. Above are a few looks to get you started…

Take GRAZIA’s silk shirt masterclass

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Back in 1979, Christian Restoin started up a line of menswear inspired shirts for women, called Equipment. In the 80’s & early 90’s, they were the most coveted item every girl had to have. They are renowned for their soft silky shirts, loose cut & patch front pockets.

During the Equipment hype, then stylist Carine Roitfeld met Christian, when she used the brand on a photo shoot. In 2001, Christian stepped down from Equipment to support Carine in her new role as editor-in-chief of French Vogue. A few years on, he has decided to re-launch the brand with the help & backing of his good friend Serge Azria (brother of Max Azria who is behind Herve Leger) who has serious fashion credentials as the creative director of both Joie & Current Elliott. Together they have revived the brand for SS10.

AS FEATURED IT GRAZIA THIS WEEK, Equipment shirts can be worn in so many different ways, dressed up or down they look extremely chic.

Utility Luxx is huge this season & is going to be even bigger next season, with boyfriend shirts playing a key part to the trend, as fashion becomes more practical (phew!). We predict Equipment will be back at the top of every girls most wanted list!
